BRITTANY
The region of Brittany (Bretagne) is in the north west of France, making it easily accessible from England by airline, train and ferry.
Brittany comprises the departments Morbihan (56), Finistère (29), Ille et Vilaine (35) and Côtes D’Armor (22).
Characterised by small villages and towns, it is generally very rural, the only city being the Capital Rennes. It has a long rugged coastline with towering cliffs and therefore Brittany is well known for its sea food aswell as crepes and galettes. Brittany is steeped in culture, its Breton language is still spoken and taught in Universities, and numerous Celtic festivals.
There is the legendary and mythical "Brocéliande" forest also called "Forêt de Paimpont" which extends over 7000 hectares.
